HFMA 2019 Annual Conference – June 23-26: Make the bold choice.
EPSi is showcasing the new Rolling Forecast application on our innovative RealCost platform as part of the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s 2019 Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, June 23 through Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
We’re looking forward to connecting with dynamic keynote speakers such as Zubin Damania, MD; Susan Dentzer; and Marcus Whitney; all of whom are delivering bold statements, in keeping with the conference theme of making bold choices.
Dr. Damania, AKA “Z-DoggMD,” is a satirical rap artist and founder of Turntable Health who uses a mix of music, humor, and creative storytelling to deliver a high-energy and entertaining presentation about today’s dysfunctional healthcare system and collaborative ways to revitalize it. Dr. Damania examines how we can all work to build Health 3.0, an ideal model of care where technology and evidence-based medicine seamlessly support healthcare teams in achieving the outcomes that actually matter to our patients, while improving the well-being of the caregivers themselves.
Susan Dentzer, an author, healthcare and policy expert, and visiting fellow at Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, will lead a session that outlines a roadmap for reinventing U.S. healthcare system. What if all aspects of current technologies—from telemedicine to remote monitoring and from fully interoperable electronic health records to artificial intelligence—were combined with healthcare workforce empowered to support them? Dentzer shows us the current trends moving us toward the vision of Health Care Without Walls.
Marcus Whitney, CEO & Co-Founder of Health:Further, an advisory firm working towards navigating disruptive change among top industry healthcare leaders, will present on inspiring and motivating attendees to get comfortable with the uncomfortable and make big strides towards a more innovative industry. Whitney says it’s clear that change is upon us. He will show the great value that will shift in the next five-10 years in health care, and how this shift provides great opportunity for the leaders in our industry– if they choose to turn headwinds into tailwinds. In this talk, Marcus will discuss what’s driving meaningful change and offer proof that now, more than ever, disruption is at the door of our industry.
Whitney will be joined by the 2019-2020 HFMA Chair Michael M. Allen, FHFMA, CPA, who is unveiling his challenge to HFMA Members: Dare You 2 Move. You’ve been dared! Allen will share why he believes it’s critical for anyone who wants to make a difference in today’s healthcare industry to find something uncomfortable and start doing it now. Get in the arena. The dissonance of where you are and where you could be is not going to fix itself. The healthcare cost problem isn’t going to fix itself. That’s why Michael is challenging his HFMA colleagues to not only identify how they ̶ individually and collectively ̶ might bridge that gap but to actually move on it.
The conference has been reimagined for this year, with lively educational sessions and more opportunities for attendees to engage and network within the HFMA Central hall.
These themes and the reimagined conference itself are perfectly aligned with what EPSi is doing with the innovative approach to using analytics to drive strategy and empower healthcare organizations to transform how they make decisions to reduce costs, increase margins, and ultimately deliver better outcomes.
Look for us at the front of the hall in Booth 167—and be sure to pre-register for your sneak preview of the highly-anticipated Rolling Forecast application on our RealCost platform.
